New Sunday School Class – Heart, Soul, Mind & Strength

New Adult Bible Class
A new Sunday School Class at the 9 a.m. session will kick off on April 22. It will take place in our Fellowship Hall. The HSMS (Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength) Class will focus on Mark 12:30, which is our mission to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.” All age groups are welcome. Bring a three-ring binder if you have one to start a personal binder with the material that will be given to help you grow in the following areas:
- Heart: Evangelism. Whether you share your faith a lot or a little, the Lord wants Christians to share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15).
- Soul: Christian Theology. A good foundation in biblical theology is valuable. With it you can offer better counsel, refute error, teach the truth, and improve your relationship with God. Biblical theology is for every Christian (2 Timothy 2:15).
- Mind: Critical Thinking. Critical thinking is a crucial part of the defense of the Christian faith that is under great attack in the world today. Though thinking logically is an art, it can also be learned. God wants us to think more clearly and critically so that we can better defend the truth of Christianity as well as expose errors. As Christians we need to use our minds (Romans 12:2).
- Strength: Apologetics. Christian apologetics is the branch of Christianity that deals with answering critics who oppose or question the revelation of God in Christ and the Bible. This will help you easily learn how to answer problems and positions of false religious groups, atheism, evolution, and more (Jude 3).
Women’s Bible Study starts April 9th
Posted on 06. Apr, 2012 by carola@firstbaptistdinuba.org in General News, Womens Ministries
Starting tomorrow, and the six Mondays after that, Women’s Ministries is introducing our next Bible study series. Jennifer Rothschild’s book Me, Myself, and Lies will definitely be a thought-closet makeover! Ever wonder what you should say when you talk to yourself? We all talk to ourselves—all the time. We evaluate everything we do, compare ourselves to others, and even call ourselves names. We belittle ourselves rather than tell ourselves the truth about who God says we are. We’ll give you the book for free, so there is no cost! You have two options: at 9 a.m. with childcare, or at 6:15 p.m. with no childcare. Both sessions will take place in our Fellowship Hall. Bring a friend with you!
