Why Should I Become A Church Member? |
|
Written by Ben E. Brady

Saturday, 13 October 2007 |
WHY SHOULD I BECOME A CHURCH MEMBER? 1. It will give you the right to attend, speak up, and vote on the many issues that come up in our business meetings.2. It will declare your commitment to our local body. Uniting with us in membership is one way you can say, “Count on me!”3. It will give greater unity to our church. Every member goes through our Newcomers Orientation, where Pastor Tom discusses what we stand for and believe. This eliminates disagreement among our members about major doctrines and policies. Thus, membership makes division in our church less likely.4. It reveals an attitude of submission to spiritual authority. It says, “I want to make myself accountable to this body of Christ.” |
